Healthy Cafeteria is a premise that prepares, serves and sells the nutritious, clean and safe food or drink in a permanent building that compiles with the principles of hygiene practices. Healthy Cafeteria also promotes the principles of healthy eating practices. Healthy Cafeteria is one of the initiatives programme of the Ministry of Health to provide an environment that supports healthy eating, clean and safe foods or drinks. This initiative programme has also been extended to other government and private agencies. Until January 2018, total 166 has been recognized healthy cafeteria by the Ministry of Health. Now, 10 agencies outside the Ministry of Health and 21 private agencies has been recognized as a Healthy Cafeteria until January 2018. The objective is to improve the quality of the foods or drinks and promote healthy eating in the cafeteria through a healthy cafeteria rating system. The implementation of healthy eating is to prevent the diseases and non communicable diseases which are overweight, obesity, diabetes mellitus, hypercholesterolemia and hypertension these are increasing among in the adult.
